Arya — Princess, Warrior, Dragon Rider

Arya Drottning is one of the most important characters in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle. An elven princess who rejected the privileges of royalty to serve as ambassador to the Varden, Arya is a skilled warrior, a powerful magician, and a person of extraordinary depth and determination.

For decades, Arya carried Saphira's egg between the elves and the Varden, hoping it would hatch for someone who could challenge Galbatorix. When she was captured by the Shade Durza, she used her last strength to send the egg to safety — where it found Eragon.

A Complex Character

Arya's character is defined by duty, sacrifice, and quiet strength. She has lived through tremendous loss — her father's death, years of torture at Durza's hands, and the burden of her people's expectations.
